Image Description
Malakoplakia of the urogenital tract involves testis in 10-15% of cases. It is a chronic inflammatory process, usually of bacterial origin usually affecting middle-aged men. The testes are enlarged and have yellow-brown discoloration. Abscesses are frequently present. In this low power view, the tubular outlines appear preserved; however, the native tubular architecture has been destroyed. The interstitium is filled with a dense chronic inflammatory infiltrate.
