Efferent ductules are seen on the upper left. Adrenal cortical tissue is on lower right. Adrenal rests are usually asymptomatic. When exposed to excessive levels of adrenocorticotropic hormones (e.g. congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Cushing Syndrome), they can enlarge and form tumor-like masses.
