Nodules of hyaline cartilage are a common finding in teratomas. Grossly, they correspond to firm, pearly or bluish-white, translucent areas. In some cases, the cytologic atypia within the cartilage may be pronounced and resemble low-grade chondrosarcoma as seen here.
