Testicular teratomas are multinodular masses usually containing solid and cystic areas. The cysts are generally smaller than 1 cm and filled with watery or mucoid fluid. The cut surface is heterogenous and corresponds to the components present.
This orchiectomy specimen shows a mixed germ cell tumor that was composed of teratoma (50%), yolk sac tumor (40%) and embryonal carcinoma (10%).
