Image Description
The three cell types can be appreciated here. The larger cells and many of the intermediate sized cells have distinctive filamentous (spireme) chromatin. The nuclei are regular round or oval and have punctate nucleoli. Mitotic activity is increased. Notwithstanding the "anaplastic" features, spermatocytic tumor behaves in a benign fashion. Orchiectomy is curative. Rare cases are complicated by sarcomatous transformation.
