A huge syncytiotrophoblastic giant cell with hundreds of nuclei is seen in this image. It is surrounded by typical seminoma cells and lymphoid infiltrate. Syncytiotrophoblastic giant cells are positive for beta-hCG immunostain. There is no evidence that classic seminomas containing syncytiotrophoblastic elements behave any more aggressively than tumors lacking them.
