Image Description
Treatment of Germ Cell Neoplasia In Situ (GCNIS): GCNIS shows high rate of progression to invasive testicular germ cell neoplasms. The treatment consists of orchiectomy (for unilateral GCNIS) or low-dose external beam radiation (for bilateral lesions).
The image shows a normal seminiferous tubule with spermatogenesis (center of the image). It is surrounded by several tubules containing germ cell neoplasia in situ (GCNIS) and no evidence of spermatogenesis.
