Image Description
Higher magnification view of the previous image showing pools of mucin which are separated by thin strands of stroma. The tumor cells are arranged in acini, cords, strands, and small clusters. When strictly defined, mucinous adenocarcinoma is an exceedingly rare variant of prostate cancer. When mucinous areas make up less than 25% of the tumor, it is diagnosed as adenocarcinoma with mucinous features.
