Image Description

This variant of prostate cancer may be mistaken for benign atrophy due to the presence of dilated glands lined by flattened epithelium. The atrophic-appearing glands are admixed with other glands that have the appearance of more typical acinar adenocarcinoma. On higher magnification, prominent nucleoli can be seen even in atrophic-appearing malignant glands.
