Image Description

Antibody cocktails combining basal cell markers (HMWCK, p63) with AMACR are useful in the evaluation of difficult prostate biopsies with limited tissue. Often the focus of concern consists of no more than a few atypical glands that may not survive on multiple levels. The advantages of performing multiple immunostains on a single slide are obvious. The focus of cancer lacks basal cells and shows strong immunoreactivity for AMACR (red staining).
