The image shows foreign body granulomas in a prostate needle biopsies. The patient had history of several surgical procedures in the recent past to treat urinary obstruction. Specks of bluish-black foreign material are surrounded by multinucleated giant cells. The exact nature of the foreign material could not be ascertained. One of the agents known to cause foreign body granulomatous reaction in the prostate is Teflon which is used to treat urinary incontinence.
