Sclerosing adenosis contains an intact basal cell layer around the acini and cords of cells. These basal cells are highlighted with high molecular weight cytokeratin immunostain in the image. Sclerosing adenosis was an incidental finding in this TURP performed for urinary obstruction. The lesion is relatively well-circumscribed and shows only minimal infiltration into the surrounding stroma.
