Image Description

The glandular lumina are elongated or branching similar to those seen in benign glands. The cytologic features of the smaller atypical glands are similar to adjacent larger obviously benign glands. This imperceptible merging of atypical and obviously benign areas sets adenosis apart from adenocarcinoma where malignant glands stand in sharp contrast to their benign neighbors.
