Image Description
Mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney is a low-grade tumor with excellent prognosis. Most cases are well-circumscribed and frequently encapsulated. In this image, the tumor (lower left) is separated from the normal kidney (upper right) by a thick fibrous capsule. Rare cases show sarcomatoid transformation and behave aggressively.
