Image Description
The epithelial component of nephroblastoma consists of embryonic tubules sometimes accompanied by rudimentary glomeruli. It closely recapitulates the appearance of developing normal metanephric tubules during embryogenesis. In some cases, the small rounded tubules may be mistaken for rosettes of neuroblastoma. Renal cell carcinoma and metanephric adenoma are other entities that enter into the differential diagnosis of Wilms tumor with a predominant epithelial component.
