Squamous cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis is an uncommon tumor that is associated with calculi, chronic infection and perhaps with horseshoe kidney. This image shows squamous metaplasia of the lining of the renal pelvis with broad tongues of squamous epithelium infiltrating underneath.
