Image Description

Prognosis: Metanephric adenoma is a benign renal neoplasm with excellent prognosis. There are no reported cases of metastases. When definitively diagnosed on a needle biopsy, it is reasonable to watch this tumor with perioidic imaging instead of proceeding with partial or total nephrectomy.

This metanephric adenoma shows small tightly packed tubules with a near-solid appearance on the right and larger tubular and acinar structures on the left.
