Image Description
Microscopic Features: This case of metanephric adenoma was detected incidentally on abdominal CT in an elderly male. The diagnosis was confirmed on a needle core biopsy.
The tumor is composed of embryonal epithelial cells arranged in tightly packed small tubules with scant stroma. Given the benign nature of the tumor, this elderly patient with compromised renal function opted not to undergo nephrectomy.
