Clinical Features: The majority of patients with metanephric adenoma (MA) are adult females. The age range is wide, from <2 years to >80 years. Most patients are in their 5th or 6th decade of life. MA is more common in females (F:M = 2:1). BRAF-mutated tumors tend to occur in adult females, whereas BRAF-wild type predominate in younger males.
About 50% of cases are asymptomatic and discovered incidentally. Symptomatic patients present with abdominal or flank pain, a palpable abdominal mass, hematuria, or polycythemia-related symptoms (10% of cases).
