Angiomyolipomas express melanocytic markers such as HMB-45 and Melan-A (shown here). Ultrastructurally, this corresponds to the presence of premelanosome-like organelles. The expression of melanocytic markers is more frequently and strongly seen with epithelioid variant of AML.
