This example shows clearer evidence of eosinophilic cytoplasm and fasciculation, consistent with leiomyosarcoma. As gastrointestinal stromal tumors were previously known as "leiomyosarcomas," they are the main other diagnosis to consider; they stain positive for ckit and DOG-1 by immunohistochemistry.
