Neuroendocrine carcinomas have cytologic features resembling that of carcinoids, but the cells typically have larger nuclear:cytoplasmic ratios, and the nuclear features are more atypical. This intermediate power view shows tumor cells arranged in ribbons and trabeculae in the submucosa.
