Image Description

Gastric carcinoids (well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors) are relatively uncommon lesions that morphologically resemble neuroendocrine lesions elsewhere in the body. There are four types, with categorization determined by etiology. The image shows tumor cells arranged in sheets, nests, cords, and trabecular pattern in the submucosa. They are relatively uniform and have abundant amphophilic cytoplasm.
