GIST : Giant cells

Giant cells can occasionally be seen in spindle-cell or especially epithelioid GISTs. The reason for their presence is uncertain, and they are not necessarily indicative of a change in prognosis. Rare malignant GISTs with numerous osteoclast-like giant cells have been described.
