Intramucosal Carcinoma in an Adenomatous Polyp

Higher magnification view of the intramucosal carcinoma component. The nuclear abnormalities and increased mitotic activity are obvious. The incidence of malignant transformation in adenomatous polyps of the stomach is low. It is more likely to occur in intestinal type than the gastric type adenomas.
