Numerous eosinophils and stellate or spindle cells are seen in this field. The spindle cells of inflammatory fibroid polyps are positive for CD34. Compared to inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor, inflammatory fibroid polyps are less cellular, less fascicular, and have more prominent eosinophils.
