Image Description

Leiomyomas of the small intestine are uncommon. They grossly and microscopically resemble those from other body sites, and they behave in a benign fashion. They must be distinguished from GIST and leiomyosarcoma. Here, a rounded, pedunculated leiomyoma protrudes from the wall of the small intestine.
