Image Description

Higher magnification of the previous image. The tumor cell trabeculae in HCC are separated by a network of vascular channels lined by endothelium. The tumor cells have round to oval enlarged nuclei, prominent nucleoli, and abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm with lipid droplets (fatty change). Note the compressed non-neoplastic liver adjacent to the tumor with smaller, more uniform hepatocytes.
