Teratoid foci may occur in mixed epithelial-mesenchymal hepatoblastomas. In this case, such foci are represented by rosettes reminiscent of neuroectodermal elements. Mixed hepatoblastomas should be distinguished from teratomas, which lack the epithelial components of hepatoblastoma.
