Image Description

Diffuse-type adenocarcinoma (also known as Linitis Plastica) is more frequently seen in the stomach but may also be occasionally encountered elsewhere in the gastrointestinal tract. Here it is seen involving the descending colon. Diffuse infiltration of the wall by signet ring cells accompanied by desmoplastic response results in thickening and rigidity of the wall along with narrowing of the passage as seen here.
