Clinical Features: Colorectal carcinoma is clinically silent in earlier stages. Tumors in proximal colon (cecum and right colon) rarely cause obstruction due to large caliber of bowel in those locations. Instead, they often present with fatigue and weakness due to iron deficiency anemia from chronic blood loss. Left-sided colon cancers can produce occult bleeding, altered bowel habits, left lower quadrant pain or cramping, and intestinal obstruction.
