Microscopic Features: Intraductal papillary neoplasms of the bile duct (IPNBs) show prominent papillary and/or villous architecture with neoplastic cells lining delicate fibrovascular stalks. Tubular and glandular elements are also frequently present. The vascular cores of papillae may be expanded by edema and inflammatory cells.
