Gallbladder Carcinoma : Differential Diagnosis
Image Description
Differential Diagnosis (continued from the previous image): Peribiliary mucous glands in the gallbladder neck and cystic duct region may be mistaken for invasive adenocarcinoma. Features favoring peribiliary mucous glands include: lobular arrangement (as shown here), uniform and evenly spaced tubules, and lack of cytologic atypia. Cancer glands are often haphazardly scattered in the stroma.
