Gallbladder Dysplasia in Rokitanksy-Aschoff Sinus
Image Description
Extension of dysplasia into Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses is an adverse prognostic indicator and predicts recurrence. Note the focus of pyloric metaplasia on the left. Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses often have a layer of fibrous stroma around them. In the presence of dysplasia, this could lead to a mistaken diagnosis of invasive adenocarcinoma.
