Hyalinizing Trabecular Adenoma
Image Description
It is a specific subtype of a follicular neoplasm in which the tumor cells show trabecular arrangement in a hyalinized background. It is a controversial lesion. Some authors consider it to be a unique entity, others think it is a variant of papillary carcinoma, and still others consider it a non-specific pattern that may be seen in other thyroid lesions. It is a rare tumor and makes up <1% of all primary thyroid tumors.
