This patient was found unconscious by a co-worker and taken to the emergency room. Work-up revealed evidence of cerebral hemorrhage and markedly elevated blood pressure. A 6 cm left adrenal mass was found. The adrenalectomy specimen showed a partially cystic and necrotic yellow-brown tumor surrounded by a thin rim of adrenal cortex. The final diagnosis was pheochromocytoma.
