Neuroblastoma : Skeletal Metastasis
Image Description
Bony metastases from neuroblastoma may present with bone pain, palpable lump or limping with irritability (Hutchinson syndrome). Some cases may present with a pathologic fracture. Approximately 60% of the patients have skeletal metastases at presentation. This autopsy specimen from a young patient with widely metastatic neuroblastoma shows multinodular lesions involving the vertebral bodies and adjacent ribs.
