Image Description

Pilomatrixoma is usually a solitary, well-circumscribed, multilobular tumor located in the dermis. It may extend into the subcutaneous fat. Compressed connective tissue elements around the tumor may form a pseudocapsule.

Mature lesions have a cheesy, yellow-white cut surface (due to keratin) with gritty consistency secondary to calcification.
