Poorly-differentiated sebaceous carcinomas (such as this one) are composed predominantly of pleomorphic basaloid cells and have only rare clusters of lipid-containing differentiated sebaceous cells. The basaloid cells have round or oval vesicular nuclei, one or more prominent nucleoli, and brisk mitotic activity.
