Image Description

A focus of necrosis in a sebaceous carcinoma. The viable tumor around the necrotic focus is composed of a predominant population of basaloid cells that show round or oval vesicular nuclei, prominent nucleoli and brisk mitotic activity. They are admixed with a small number of mature-appearing sebaceous cells with pale-staining vacuolated cytoplasm and small hyperchromatic nuclei.
