Image Description

The intervening stroma can sometimes show marked edematous change, as shown above. In some cases, spiradenomas can be confused with cylindromas, another adnexal tumor. Unlike spiradenomas, cylindromas are composed of islands of tumor cells arranged in a jig-saw puzzle configuration. However, it should be noted that some tumors may show overlapping features and can be designated as hybrid (spiradenoma/cylindroma) tumors.
