In plantar warts caused by HPV1 and some cases associated with HPV60 and HPV65, the cells contain prominent intracytoplasmic eosinophilic inclusions. Basophilic keratohyalin granules may also be present. Both types of inclusions are seen in this image. HPV4 induced lesions show koilocytosis but no keratohyalin granules.
