Image Description

Early morphea lesions are erythematous and edematous. More established lesions are circumscribed, well-defined, densely sclerotic, and shiny ivory or white in color. There is loss of subcutaneous fat, hair and sebaceous glands as well as development of hypo- and hyperpigmented areas.

The plaque form of morphea consists of multiple, round or oval, circumscribed lesions which are bilateral but asymmetrical in distribution. The most common sites are thorax, neck, lower extremities, upper extremities and face.
