Angiosarcoma of Breast - High Grade
Image Description
In high-grade angiosarcomas of the breast, highly anaplastic endothelial cells line complex or slit-like nearly occluded vascular channels imparting a solid appearance. There may be areas of spindle cell pattern or prominent endothelial tufting. Differential diagnosis includes ductal carcinoma, metaplastic carcinoma and pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia. A panel of markers including p63, CK5, CD31 and CD34 is helpful in arriving at the correct diagnosis.
