Image Description

Tubular carcinoma shares histologic features with radial scar and microglandular adenosis. It may also be mistaken for fibroadenoma in needle core biopsies. The clues to the diagnosis are: absence of myoepithelial cells and basement membrane in the glands, haphazard arrangement of the glands, infiltration of fat at the periphery of the lesion (shown here), and the presence of typical intraductal carcinoma within or outside the lesion.
