Intracystic Papillary Carcinoma of Breast
Image Description
Papillary carcinomas make up 1% to 2% of breast carcinomas in women. The patients are usually older (mean age 63 to 67 years) than with other breast carcinomas. In the intracystic variant of in-situ papillary carcinoma, the tumor appears as a mural nodule within a cystic space created by a dilated duct. An invasive component may also be seen in some cases.
