Image Description

Pleomorphic lobular carcinoma (PLC) resembles the classical tumor in growth pattern but the tumor cells show more abundant cytoplasm, marked nuclear pleomorphism, nuclear hyperchromasia, prominent nucleoli and increased mitotic rate. Other features of PLC include apocrine differentiation, presence of signet ring cells, lack of hormone receptors, positivity for HER2/neu and P53, and the absence of E-Cadherin immunoreactivity. PLC has a more aggressive clinical course as compared to classical ILC. Higher magnification of the previous image.
