Measurement of Tumor Size: The majority of patients with invasive breast carcinoma have a single, asymmetrically-shaped tumor. The specimen should ideally be received intact by the pathologist and bisected along its longest dimension. Measurements should be taken before submitting any tissue for frozen section.
