Image Description

Radial scar belongs to a group of breast lesions that display small size, stellate shape, central fibrosis and some degree of epithelial proliferation. They are usually associated with fibrocystic disease. On mammography and on gross examination, their stellate shape creates resemblance to carcinoma. This image shows the characteristic stellate shape and ductal hyperplasia.
