Comments:
In addition to steatosis and steatohepatitis, long-term total parenteral nutrition (TPN) may result in cholestasis, hepatocellular damage, ductular reaction, fibrosis, and cirrhosis. This case of TPN-induced cirrhosis shows damaged hepatocytes with steatosis and inspissated bile. The morphologic features may mimic those of bile duct obstruction.
